The following cheer divisions are offered through the NHYFSC.
Division & Levels are determined by the local associations.

Age cut off for all Divisions is July 31.
Note: Divisions 8 thru 14 have a 4 year age span, Division 18 has a 5 year age span.
Division Specifications
- Mascots- If offered at the local level, are assigned to a specific cheer division. They do not perform or compete in ANY competitions.
- Tiny Mites-This level is Non-Competitive but do perform in the local and State competitions.
- Division 8- This level has an option of Competitive or NON-Competitive which is decided on by the local associations.
Non-Competitive teams will perform in the local and State competitions. Competitive teams
will compete in the local and State competitions with the ability to advance to the Regional and National competitions.
- Divisions 10-18- These levels are all Competitive and will compete in the local and State competitions with the
ability to advance to the Regional and National competitions. Any team to place in the top 3 at States will advance to Regionals. If the team places in top 3 they move on to Nationals in Florida.
- Division 18 teams are not required to cheer at weekly games. Athletes that have graduated high school are not eligible to be a participant even if they under 18 years old.
- Inspiration: The AYC Inspiration Division enables youth with either cognitive or physical disabilities to participate in football and cheer.
NH Conference Division 14 Elite Cheer
AYC offers a Conference "All-Star type team". Please reach out to your local association for information.

Elite athletes MUST be an active Division 12, Division 14, or Division 18 athlete.
Components of an AYC competition routine
• Up to 2 ½ (2:30) minute routine consisting of all music, no minimum time required
• A cheer portion is NOT required but a short chant over music is allowed
Cheer Categories
Cheer Squads are divided into up to 4 different levels:
- Level 1 - Teams that have athletes and coaches with little to no experience. Novice athletes and coaches.
- Level 2 - Teams with athletes and coaches where majority of the team has mastered level 1 skills. Beginner to intermediate skilled athletes and coaches.
- Level 3 - Teams with athletes and coaches where majority of the team has mastered level 2 skills. Intermediate to advanced athletes and coaches
- Level 4 - Teams with athletes and coaches where majority of the team has mastered level 2 & 3 skills. Advanced athletes and coaches.
Cheer Size
Cheer squads are divided into 2 size:
Small consisting of 5 to 18 participants per squad
Large consisting of 19 to 36 participants per squad
